He Increases My Strength

I am taking the week off to spend some time at the beach with my three favorite little people, but you are in for a treat today because my friend, Jennifer Moye, is writing a guest post on the blog. I pray it speaks to you like it spoke to me. Jennifer and I met through Compel, an online training community for writers hosted by Proverbs 31 Ministries. She is a fellow Air Force wife, a mom to three boys, and she is currently working on her first book. I can’t wait to share more about that with all of you in the coming months. You will love Jennifer’s honesty and transparency as she writes about God’s calling on her life. Enjoy!

“He gives power to the faint and weary, and to him who has no might He increases strength” (Isaiah 40:29)

How amazing is this verse when you really stop to think about it?

In the Bible, Joseph went through seasons of difficulty. He was rejected by his family, sold into slavery, lied about, mistreated, abandoned, falsely accused, and thrown in jail. But through it all, Joseph never gave up. He kept pressing through and doing the right thing even though the wrong thing kept happening. The Bible says Joseph laid in prison in chains of iron. As Joseph just kept on fighting life through, his soul became as strong as that steel. God developed a supernatural strength in him that no one could take away and that only God could give!

When I think about my life, and challenges that we all face, sometimes I start to think: how will I do this? How can I get through this alone? What if I am not strong enough? The answer to all these questions is the same…JESUS. I can’t get through any of these things on my own and I will never be strong enough on my own. Life is a God-sized task! How amazing it is that I am a child of the God who strengthens me with a God-sized strength that no one can take away. He pours His grace out on me every day! Whatever it is that you are going through today, God wants to increase your strength. He wants to increase your power to overcome. He wants to make your inner self as strong as steel. When we keep standing, keep believing, keep doing the right thing, we are opening ourselves to God’s supernatural strength. That is when you know you are growing in Him.

Be strong today. Keep pressing forward because God is at work increasing strength in YOU so that you can live in victory in every area of your life!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

“Sweet Father Jesus, today I surrender every difficulty to You. I release the questions, hurts, and frustrations. I choose to trust You and do the right thing. Increase Your strength in me so that I can live in the victory You have in store for me and so that I may glorify You in every aspect of my life. Let me be a reflection of your strength and glory to others around me. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.”
