What I’m Loving, Edition August 2017

Well, we’ve all survived our first month of school. We’re exhausted, just like every other family, but we are sort of finally getting into a routine. Here are a few of my favorite things this month.

  1. Stitch Fix: Ok, so here’s the deal. I signed up for Stitch Fix several years ago when it first came out and I wasn’t super impressed. But because I have recently returned to work and the only clothes I owned were t-shirts and workout pants, I thought I would give Stitch Fix another chance. And y’all. They did not disappoint. In fact, I bought every single item in my most recent box: a maxi skirt, three tops, and some super cute shorts. If you want to give it a shot, use my code and sign up. And then let me know what you think of your Fix!
  2. Madam Secretary: Have any of you watched this show? I recently discovered it and fell in love. Tea Leone is great as the Secretary of State and I’m a sucker for any kind of presidential/government drama. It sort of reminds me of West Wing, so if you were a fan of that show, I think you’ll love this one too. This show is really clean – I can even watch it with my 13-year old. I’ve just finished binge watching the first 3 seasons on Netflix and am anxiously awaiting Season 4, which starts on October 8. Check it out!
  3. This podcast: Y’all. I listened to this podcast last week and it really made me think. If you’ve never listened to the God-Centered Mom podcast, you should. It’s one of my favorites. But this one was all about Disordered Eating. You may not think this applies to you but it might. And if it doesn’t apply directly to your life, I’m willing to bet there are people in your life that it does apply to. As I listened, I started thinking about many of my friends who obsess about what they put in their body. It’s not healthy, y’all. We need to be obsessing about Jesus, not food or exercise. (And for the record, I’m as guilty as anyone on this topic…) Give it a listen and let me know what you think!

That’s it for this month! I hope all of you are adjusting to early mornings, school drop-offs, and homework!
