What I’m Loving, Edition November 2017

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Our family met my parents in Atlanta to spend the holiday with my brother, his wife, and  their son. We had a great time – I can’t remember the last time we were all together.

Here are my favorite things for November!

  1. These Nikes: I love these shoes! Brie got a pair several months ago and then I saw them on sale a few months later so I grabbed a pair for myself. (I’m sure she loves that we have matching shoes…) Anyway, I wear these all the time. With jeans, with shorts, to the gym. All. The. Time. They are really comfortable and since they’re black, they go with everything. Ha!
  2. Truth in the Tinsel: I think everybody knows by now that I’m a huge fan of Sacred Holidays and their advent Bible studies. And while I encourage all of you to grab your copy of those, they are mostly for school-aged children, teens, women, and men. Truth in the Tinsel is geared more for younger children, and let me tell you – they will LOVE it! I used this advent program with my littles kids for several years and it was so much fun. Every day (or as often as possible), we read part of the Christmas story and made cute ornaments to hang on a small “advent” tree. If you know me in real life, you know that I am the least crafty person, but even I could do these. If you have small children, download Truth in the Tinsel and use it this Christmas season. I promise you won’t regret it!
  3. This article: As I read this article, I was reminded of our journey with Jonah. Y’all. Sometimes our parenting isn’t enough. Let me rephrase – most of the time our parenting isn’t enough. But Jesus is enough. And He is faithful.

That’s it for November. I can’t believe it’s December and Christmas is right around the corner. Stay tuned in the next couple weeks for my list of favorite books from 2017 – you won’t want to miss that post because I’ll be doing a giveaway!
