What I’m Loving, Edition June 2019

Y’all. I have been off the grid for over a month. What in the world? Summer is halfway over and we have been busy and life is crazy. So writing has taken a backseat to everything else. Sometimes seasons are like that, aren’t they? We have to let some good things go in order to take care of other things. But honestly, I’ve needed to write and process all the things that are happening right now. So hopefully I will be able to get into some sort of writing groove over here…

Anyway, we are currently loving summer! We spent a few days in the mountains of Tennessee celebrating my husband’s Doctorate of Physical Therapy graduation, enjoying family time, and sitting on porches staring at gorgeous views. It’s always fun to get out of our routines, even if it’s only for a few days.

Here are some other things I’ve been loving the past couple months:

  1. The Happy Hour with Jada Edwards: It’s no secret that the Happy Hour with Jamie Ivey is one of my favorite podcasts. But this particular episode was especially great. Jada talked about marriage, relationships with others, her Women’s Bible study, and so many other topics. You should check it out!
  2. A Place for Us: This book is probably my favorite of 2019 so far. Not many books have made me cry, but this one made me sob several times as I thought about relationships and family and why we do the things we do. The story is set around an Indian Muslim family living in the United States and told from the perspective of different family members. If you love to read, you should grab a copy of this book!
  3. EnneaSummer: Ok, so here’s another podcast series and it’s all about the Enneagram. My favorite thing! Annie Downs hosts the That Sounds Fun Podcast and she has done an enneagram series this summer that I have LOVED listening to. She takes one number per episode and invites a man and a woman who identify with that particular number onto the podcast to talk about their number. (Wow, that was a lot of “numbers.”) I linked to the Enneagram One episode but you can find all of them here. Anyway, it was fascinating and I learned so much!

Alright, friends. That’s it for the month of June! I hope you’re enjoying your summer as much as we are!
