What I’m Loving, Edition March 2021

Hey, everybody! It’s the end of March and I can see the light at the end of the tunnel of this crazy school year. I’m ready to swim in my pool and go on vacation and leave the cares of my job behind for a few weeks. Anybody else?

March has been good to us. We had spring break toward the beginning of the month and didn’t really do much. We shopped in Nashville one day and hung out at the local arcade one afternoon, but other than that, it’s been a low-key month around here.

Check out some of my favorite things from March:

  1. This CBD Cream: Ok. I don’t know much about CBD cream. I have no idea what it’s supposed to do or if it’s good for you. No. Idea. But I heard about this particular body butter on a podcast where the host mentioned how putting it on her neck and wrists at night before bed helps calm her anxiety. Well, you know I had to order some. (I’m such a sucker.) I got a small tub of it for Brienne and a small tub for me. And let me just say, I have no idea if it’s helping with anxiety. I’m not necessarily an anxious person. But I love the moisturizing effects and the scent (I got the lavender sage) and just the ritual of putting this cream on my neck and wrists each night. If you’re curious, check it out here!
  2. The Jerusalem Assassin: Ok, I really really like reading basically anything by Joel Rosenberg. He has a way of subtly (and sometimes not so subtly) bringing the Word of God into his stories. For some reason, I’m particularly interested in the Middle East and relations between the Muslim and Jewish communities so I love reading about those dynamics, even if it’s fictional. This book is the 3rd in the Marcus Ryker series. If you want an interesting, edge of your seat adventure, start with the first book. Then keep reading. And let me know what you think.
  3. This Whole 30 Cookbook: I’ve been doing Whole 30 this month, and I texted Peter a few days ago saying this: “Whole 30 makes me sad.” Because that’s basically how I feel about it. I miss my cookies and cakes and pastas and rice and bread and cheese. I could go on. But honestly, I knew I needed to make a dietary change because of some soreness and joint issues I’ve been having. So here we are (or I should say, “Here I am”) on Whole 30. But this cookbook. This cookbook has such great recipes and now I’m not always sad anymore. Ha! Some of our favorites are the Chicken Marbella with Kale and Sweet Potato Chili. Both of those are great. Actually every single recipe I’ve tried from this cookbook has been delicious. So, if you’re on a journey to better health, check it out. And let me know your favorite recipes!
  4. This perfume: I took the kids shopping in Nashville over spring break and we stumbled across this perfume in Abercrombie. It is sweet (but not too sweet) with hints of citrus undertones. A perfect scent for spring and summer! I bought a bottle for Brie but the day after we got home from shopping, I also ordered one for myself! Sorry, not sorry, Brie. 🙂

And that’s it for March! Happy Spring, y’all!
