What I’m Loving, Edition April 2024

I don’t know how you feel, but April has been a long month. Yet I can’t believe May begins this week! Our family is looking forward to some pool time and summer relaxation.

Here are a few things I’m loving right now. (some links are affiliate)

Something to Read:

  • Solace of Water: this is a story that follows two families – one African American and one Amish – who befriend each other in the midst of tragedy. It’s a beautifully heartbreaking story of loss, friendship, discrimination, and redemption.
  • Tired of Being Tired: I love Jess Connolly – she has an encouraging podcast that I listen to each week – and her newest book did not disappoint. Jess talks about the different types of “tired,” such as physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual, and she gives practical tips to help you overcome your exhaustion in those areas. We could all use a little help in this area right now, I think.
  • Local Woman Missing: If you like edge-of-your-seat mystery, this book is for you. A local woman and her daughter go missing, but the daughter returns after several years. The hunt is on to figure out exactly what happened all those years ago.

Something to Wear:

  • This sweatshirt: I bought this in March because I loved the hot pink color. It’s super soft with a slight textured pattern and the sleeves are amazing! Every time I wear it, I get compliments. I bought mine in my regular size but you could always size up if you want it oversized. It’s a great versatile piece that you can dress up or down.
  • Another sweatshirt: I spotted this shirt on the above-mentioned Jess Connolly’s website and immediately put it on my “I want this!” list. I am a big proponent of Sabbath and have been trying to implement it into my life on a more regular basis recently. If anyone needs a gift idea for me, this would be a great one! Ha!
  • This outfit: Another thing I’ve recently spotted and put on my “I want this!” list is this outfit. It looks super comfortable yet put together and would be a great addition to anyone’s closet. It’s hard to choose between all the great colors though!

Something Fun:

  • Tru Fru: My girls are hooked on this yummy snack and I’m sure if you give it a try, you will be too. Chocolate covered fruit either frozen or not – how can you go wrong?
  • This makeup: As you surely know by now, I’m always on the hunt for anything that helps reduce the look of fine lines that are currently occurring on my face. Instagram ads get me every time and this one is no different. But I actually do really love this foundation so if you’re looking for a change, take the quiz to find your perfect shade and give this one a try!

That’s it for April! What are your favorite things this month?
