What I’m Loving, Edition May 2020

We made it! It’s the end of May and things are slowly getting back to normal. Yay! Here are a few of my favorite things this month. (Some links are affiliate)

  1. Chasing Vines: The newest book by Beth Moore, (aka my favorite Bible teacher), follows her journey to Italy with her daughters and continues as she digs deep into the parable Jesus taught regarding the vine and the vinegrower in John 15. It’s a deep and interesting read and I am still processing much of what she teaches in the book. If you love Beth Moore, you will love this book!
  2. This Chocolate Cobbler Recipe: Y’all. I grew up in the south and I feel like “cobbler” really epitomizes southern cooking. But I had never tasted anything like this. It comes out of the oven with a cake like top layer, but underneath is a gooey runny chocolatey sauce that is divine. It’s sort of a darker chocolate sauce because of the cocoa powder, so it was rich and delicious. My kids didn’t love it (probably because it was a darker flavor), which was fine because it meant more for me! Do yourself a favor and eat it hot and topped with vanilla ice cream. Yummo!
  3. Bad Boys for Life: If you’re a fan of Will Smith and the Bad Boys movie series, I think you will love the latest installment. Peter and I watched it a few weeks ago and it was so funny! There were a few choice words throughout the movie so I wouldn’t recommend watching it with your kids, but if you’re looking for an action-packed entertaining night with your spouse, this might be just the ticket!
  4. Evvie Drake Starts Over: I downloaded this book to my kindle after several friends recommended it. I have to say, I wasn’t sure I really wanted to read it because it sounded like just another love story. But it was actually really good! The storyline is different than any I’d read before and it kept my interest throughout the book. This would be a great beach read (if any of you are getting to go on vacation during COVID-19!).

That’s it for this month! Happy Summer!
