I love summer and I especially love thinking about getting away to places I’ve never been. Three years ago I wrote a post with my five year vacation plan (you can read it here), and it resonated with so many of you that I thought I would give you a few updates.
Here are my Top 7 vacation spots, with updates, that I wanted to visit over five years (2022-2027):
- The Beach – We actually went to the beach last summer and it was perfect. The kids are dying to go back (and I’ll never pass up a beach trip if I can help it).
- Yellowstone/Yosemite/Grand Canyon – Really, I just want to go out west somewhere that I’ve never been. We haven’t been able to fit any of these trips into our travel plans yet, but hopefully over the next year or so…
- Universal Studios – Our family plan is to head to Orlando over spring break 2026 for a trip to Universal and Disney.
- Washington DC – We were able to visit our nation’s capital a couple years ago and it remains a highlight. I’m so glad we went!
- All-inclusive family resort – We haven’t done this yet, but a family tropical vacation sounds amazing right now!
- 25th anniversary trip to somewhere in Europe – Peter and I spent several days in Portugal last summer and it was magical!
- Israel – A trip to the Holy Land will forever be on my travel bucket list although the instability in the region is currently making it impossible to go.
If you’re keeping track, we’ve achieved 3 out of 7 vacation spots so far with one more planned for spring. I’d say that’s pretty good considering I just made this list in June 2022. If you could make a Five Year Vacation Plan, where would you go?
