What I’m Loving, Edition October 2020

October is drawing to a close so here are some of my favorite things this month:

  1. Cobra Kai on Netflix: If you were a child in the 80’s, you were undoubtedly a huge fan of Karate Kid. Let’s be honest, I had Ralph Macchio posters hanging in my room (right alongside Joey McIntyre from NKOTB). Well, if this sounds familiar to you, do yourself a favor – hop on over to Netflix and click on Cobra Kai. There are 2 seasons of this delightful and dramatic show that Peter and I both loved. We laughed and cringed and reminisced – it was great. The basic premise is this: Karate Kid is all grown up and has a successful business in town. His rival, Johnny, has been down on his luck but has recently decided to get his life together and open a new karate dojo. Let the antics ensue! Check it out – I think you’ll love it! (Not suitable for children, btw.)
  2. This book: I recently read Bad Blood: Secrets and Lies in a Silicon Valley Startup, a true story of the rise and fall of Theranos. Theranos was an up and coming business focused on an easier way to draw and test blood. To be honest, I had never heard of this company but the book was recommended by a friend and I couldn’t put it down. So many rich and influential people in our country were affected by the downfall of this company, and frankly, it was a little frightening as I realized just what the rich and powerful are capable of. If you like true stories mixed with a little drama, I think you’ll like this book.
  3. This shirt from Amazon: I’m always on the hunt for cute and comfy clothes that can take me from work to a casual night at home. This shirt does the trick. It’s soft, it covers places I want to hide, and it’s inexpensive. It also comes in a variety of colors. I bought it in “coffee” and I love it!
  4. My favorite pair of booties: I’ve fallen in love with the shoe brand Vionics.  They are quite possibly the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever worn. I’m always a little trepidatious about spending a lot of money on shoes, but the older I get, the more I’m willing to spend. I found these booties (I bought the black) on Amazon for a smidge cheaper than the Vionics website, so I hopped on the deal and ordered them. No regrets whatsoever! I can wear them all day and well into the evening with no foot pain. And y’all, if you knew the issues I have with my feet, you would understand my excitement!

That’s it for October! Hope you’re all having a wonderful Fall. Tell me what you’re loving this month!
