What I’m Loving, Edition September 2021

Aah. The weather is cooling down (maybe) and it’s beginning to feel like fall around here. I’ve had several favorite things this month but the best thing was seeing our girl this weekend for Belmont parent and family weekend. Brienne is happy and healthy and loving life, which makes this mama feel relieved and content.

Here are a few other things I’m loving right now. (Some links are affiliate)

  1. The Rise and Fall of Mars Hill: Have I already shared this podcast with you? I’ve talked about it with so many people yet I can’t remember if I’ve recommended it here. Y’all. This podcast is very intriguing. It follows Mars Hill Church and the difficulties it faced before it imploded. I have to be honest – I didn’t know much about this church or its charismatic pastor before I began to listen, but now I’m curious about so much more than this podcast explores. Listen to it then come tell me all your thoughts. Or listen with your friends – it will definitely give you something to talk about.
  2. The Dutch House: I read this book a few months ago but kept forgetting to put it on my favorite things list. This is the story of a brother and sister whose mother walked out on them when they were young children. It then follows their lives as their father remarries and as they grow up. I loved the interesting dynamic of how families care for each other and what we are willing to forgive.
  3. Judy Blue jeans: I kept holding out, not buying these jeans although everyone I know who had a pair loves them. I have a few favorite brands (KanKan jeans being the best!) so I was hesitant in branching out to something else. But yall. These jeans are soft and stretchy and fit just right. If you’re looking for a new pair of jeans for fall, these just might be what you need.
  4. BVStudio journal: I was gifted this journal by its designer a couple months ago after I commented on instagram about how difficult it is to be consistent in journaling. When I received this in the mail, I was floored – it’s beautiful! I love the dot paper – it feels so open and ready for all my words. Grab one of these journals and start off the fall season writing down all the things.

That’s it for September. What are you loving right now?
